We're pleased to provide last week's Hood River City Council discussion excerpts on "Missing Middle" housing code with Spanish subtitles. Simply go to the YouTube link (https://youtu.be/wKKbr_XRKsY), click on the little "gear" icon in the lower-right of the screen, and choose "Spanish".
The City of Hood River has said for 2 years that it "intends" to provide greater outreach for its meetings. So far, all we have are audio recordings (better than nothing). It's hard to know who's talking or to follow presentations.
With our video postings (and we hope more to come in Spanish as well), those who are hard of hearing, or more comfortable reading in Spanish, can also learn what the city council or other city agencies are working on. English subtitles are also available as "closed captions" - those provided by YouTube. Spanish subtitles done by "Engage the Gorge."
